Who: Tom Elrod. Sometimes I go by the alias “Thomas.” It’s very deceptive.

What: A blog about books, particularly in relation to the publishing industry, technology, academia, and the humanities. Sometimes I’m going to talk about film, too, because films are awesome.

Where: Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill (aka “The Triangle”), North Carolina, USA.

When: Whenever I can. I have a day job so this is not exactly a priority.

Why: I work at UNC Press in digital publishing, which means I think about and help create ebooks and other digital products. This blog acts as a spillover for my bookish-related ruminations outside of the office. It does not and should not be seen as a subsidiary of the Press, the university, or any of the work done there. All ill-formed opinions, ruinous misconceptions, and haphazard conjectures are my own, and should be treated as such.

How: The old-fashioned world wide web. Or through my RSS feed. Or at Twitter. Or Google+, if you’re into that sort of thing. If you want to check out the writing I occasionally do for Independent Weekly, that can be found here.
